Partnership with God
[Transcript for Podcast message available here]
God has called us into himself in a very real way.
We are not a sinful, failed creation walking alongside a merciful God but through Jesus’ great sacrifice, God has made us his very own righteousness, given us his Spirit - He dwells in us. We are part of the very fabric of God. He has chosen to share his very nature with us.
We belong to God.
He communicates to us, we hear his voice, he guides us by his Spirit and most of all he has assigned us the mystery of greatest value – to walk in partnership with Him.
The first picture we find of this is Adam in the garden before the fall.
Adam communed with the Lord enjoying free exchange of dialogue. Adam had freedom to rule over God’s creation but also a responsibility towards God’s creation – to care for God's creation.
God called Adam to partake, to participate, to commune.
This was a place of deep connection and spiritual relationship – Adam the son of God, created in God’s image and likeness. Adam was God’s representative in the earth, for as long as he was aligned to God's set terms of that partnership.
