The Risen King Our New Life

“God has raised this Jesus to life, and we are all witnesses to it.”- Acts 2:32

Not only do we share in Jesus' death but in his resurrection also. The resurrection of Jesus means new life for the believer. Jesus’ resurrection gives us new life. Jesus’ resurrection is our victory. (Colossians 2)

This new life is a life in which we have been credited with Jesus’s righteousness.

In the divine substitutionary exchange at cavalry, Jesus who knew no sin became sin so we could be made the righteousness of God in him. (2 Corinthians 5:21)

The righteous act of Jesus’s sacrifice resulted in justification and life for all people bringing us back into fellowship with the Father. A justification that we were not able to obtain under the law of Moses. Jesus’s one sacrifice put an end to all sacrifices and those who believe in him, now have peace with God. (Romans 5:18, Acts 13:39, Hebrews 10:12, Romans 5:1)

Our old self, ruled by sin that we inherited from Adam that controlled us before we gave our lives to Christ was crucified at the cross with Jesus, this is where we united with him in death. Whatever we were prior to coming into Christ is now dead and no longer exists. That old man ruled by sin is gone. We have now been given a new life through our union with him in his resurrection. (Romans 6, Colossians 3).

Believers in Jesus Christ, have access to God and can come boldly to him dressed in Jesus’ robe of righteousness. Our identity is now in Christ. He was raised to life for our justification, God sees us as holy and blameless without sin because of this new righteous life of justification we have received through Jesus’ resurrection. (Romans 4:25, Colossians 2)

This glorious blessing of new life that we have in Jesus, is a grace gift of God to be received by faith. A reason to celebrate and give thanks forever.

We can do nothing to earn it but only receive it with hearts full of thanksgiving.

Jesus our messiah, raised from the dead. God raised Him from the dead, releasing Him from the agony of death, because it was impossible for Him to be held in its clutches. (Acts 2:24). The King is risen.

He has defeated death, hell and the grave. The Lord our saviour Jesus Christ lives.

He laid his life down so we could live.

He came into our humanity so we could share in his divinity. Let us forever celebrate.

Enjoy the new life in Christ Jesus.
